Larry L. Schrecongost's Obituary

Larry L. Schrecongost, age 58, of Indiana, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at the Armstrong Co. Memorial Hospital. He was born in 1951 in Butler Co. to Laird Schrecongost and Cleda Bish Schrecongost Smock. Larry was an area broadcaster for over 40 years, and was a founding partner in Indiana Tower, Inc., and Vernal Enterprises, Inc., the parent company of radio stations WTYM Kittanning, WNCC, WRDD, and WHPA, Cambria County, and WLLS, class A television station, Indiana. Mr. Schrecongost was an avid traveler, having visited 48 different states and abroad. He was also an avid collector of records and music paraphernalia. Larry is survived by his beloved daughter, Joy Kathleen Schrecongost, his wife of 21 years, Nancy Woodburn Schrecongost; his mother, and his sister, Nancy E. Schrecongost. He was preceded in death by his father, and his sister, Darlene Schrecongost. Friends will be received on Saturday from 1 to 3 P.M., at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, 500 Ben Franklin Road South, Indiana, where a celebration of Larry's life will begin at 3 P.M. Interment will be private.
