Kristina N. Sergent, age 22 of Indiana, died on February 25, 2017 in Columbus, OH.

She was born in 1994 at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton Roads, VA to Brian and Preeti Sergent.

Krissy was a member of St. Thomas More University Parish, in Indiana and in Columbus, OH. She was also a member of the Delta Delta Delta Nu Sorority, (Tri Delta) at The Ohio State University. She was a volunteer at St. Andrew's Village, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, and the Indiana County YMCA.

After graduation from Indiana Area Senior High School in 2012, Kristina earned her Bachelors degree in Neuroscience at The Ohio State University. She was currently working at The James Cancer Research Center where she was pursuing her path to Medical School.

Krissy loved her family unconditionally and was the best friend to her big sister, Michelle. She had a carefree personality, contagious laugh, and a mind of her own. She was a strong-willed, independent woman yet loving and caring which are virtues that made her adored and loved by all family and friends.

She is survived by her parents of Indiana, her sister Michelle, Pittsburgh; maternal grandmother, Manjula Patel, West Palm Beach, FL; paternal grandparents, Katherine and Barry Sergent, Belsano; the following aunts and uncles - Kevin Sergent and wife Renee, Indiana, and their children Shane, Shauna, Erika, Abigail, Baylee, and Luke; Paulmi Doelman and husband Ron, West Palm Beach, FL, and their children John and Christopher; Raj Patel and wife Elena, Jupiter, FL, and their daughter Piper; Christine Sergent, Millbrook, NY; Jeffrey Sergent and wife Julie, Colver, and their children, Jeff Lee and Travis.

Krissy was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Narendra Patel, and her great aunt Taraben Patel.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 A.M. at St. Thomas More University Parish. Interment will be private.
