Kenneth L Schnarrs, 90, of Indiana, PA died peacefully on Saturday January 25, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Ken was a family man dedicated to his profession and community. After his graduation from The University Of Connecticut, Ken dedicated his life to the care of others as a Physical Therapist serving as Department Chief at Lee Hospital in Johnstown, PA for over 30 years. He previously worked with United Cerebral Palsy. In addition, Ken was involved in the start up of the Sheltered Workshop, now ICW Vocational Services, in Indiana and served on the board for the PA Association of Retarded Citizens. Ken also served on the Board Of United Methodist Church in Indiana and dedicated his time to serving others through church outreach programs. Over his lifetime, Ken enjoyed sports and was a longtime fan of the Steelers, Pirates, PennState Football and UConn Basketball. He also enjoyed hiking, reading, music, travel, and spending time with good friends and family.
Ken is survived by two children, Jeffrey Schnarrs of Pittsburgh, PA and Karla (Steven) German of Malvern, PA; and a grandson, Philip Schnarrs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Dorothy (Askey) Schnarrs; his wife, Barbara (Taylor) Schnarrs; son, Bradley Schnarrs; grandson, Bryan German; and brother, Robert Schnarrs.
Friends will be received by the family on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from Noon until the time of service at 1:00 PM, in the Bowser Minich Funeral Home, 500 Ben Franklin Road S, Indiana, PA, with Pastor Kathy Mihoerck officiating. Private inurnment will be made in Grandview Cemetery, Morrisdale, PA.
