Katherine Ann
Longenecker
August 23, 1957 – March 5, 2025
Katherine Ann (Kowchuck) Longenecker, 67, of Blairsville, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025. Born in Ernest on August 23, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Agnes (Usko) Kowchuck.
Kathy graduated in 1975 from Marion Center High School. She worked for many years at various family restaurants. With her contagious smile, she may have poured your coffee at the Blue Ridge Restaurant or served your dinner at Hoss's Steak House.
Kathy retired in 2020 to spend more time doing her favorite things: crafting, sewing, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She and her husband Rich loved to take day trips. Whether it was a breakfast stop, a visit to camp, or sightseeing, her presence always made every occasion memorable for her family and friends.
Surviving Kathy to cherish her memory is her husband Richard E. Longenecker, whom she married in November 1997, her children Jodi (Michael) Leasure-Brown of Marion Center, Brian (Tara) Leasure of Rossiter, PA, Jessica (Matthew) Simon of Mt. Airy, MD, grandchildren Bradley (Madison) Leasure of Glen Campbell, Maleigha (Zachary) Pearce of Rossiter and Sydney Simon of Mt. Airy, MD, great grandchildren Tatum and Cade Leasure and Kinsley Pearce, one brother James Kowchuck of Derry, sisters-in-law Dorothy (Bill) Barry of DuBois, and Patricia Pierce of FL, as well as a brother-in-law Frank (Brenda) Longenecker of Indiana.
In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Bernard, Kowchuck, Jr., as well as mother and father-in-law Dorothy and Ernest Longenecker.
Friends will be received by the family on Monday, March 10, 2025 from 4:00 PM until the time of service at 7:00 PM in the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, with Pastor J.P. Price officiating.
