Joyce M. Irwin-Maughan's Obituary

Joyce M. Irwin-Maughan, age 54, of Clymer, formerly of Home, died Sunday, July 18, 2010 at her home, following a 15 month courageous battle with cancer. She was born in 1955 in Indiana, to Joseph W. and Barbara M. White Irwin. Joyce was a member of the Ambrose Baptist Church. She was a 1973 graduate of the Marion Center Area High School and a graduate of the Dubois Business College. A resident of S. Mahoning Twp. nearly her entire life, she moved to Clymer after her marriage to Wayne A. Maughan, Sr. on June 13, 2010. She was employed by ARIN Intermediate Unit #28, as a home visitor for the past five years, and was formerly employed at Greensteel Inc., Dixonville for 27 years. Joyce is survived by her husband Wayne A. Maughan, Sr. Clymer; by a step-daughter Kathy Maughan and her partner Berwin Wilshire, Cherry Tree; by a step-granddaughter Ashley Wilshire, Cherry Tree; by the following brothers and sister, Raymond and wife Celeste, Marion Center; Ron and wife Mona, Clymer; Bob and wife Sharon, Smicksburg; Roger and wife Brenda, Home; Dwight and wife Louise, Home; Julianne Roush and husband Tim, Home. She is also survived by the following nieces and nephews, Katrina Sexton and husband Jeff; Rebecca King and husband Steven; Anita Iacaruso and husband Chris; Ryan Irwin, Brent Irwin and friend Ariana Opsal, Valerie Irwin and friend Hugh Shultz, Carissa Irwin, Missy Irwin, Nicholas Irwin and wife Katie, Jenna Irwin; three great nephews and one great neice, and numerous aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her parents and her step-son, Wayne A. Maughan Jr. Friends will be received on Wednesday, July 21, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 22, at 11 A.M. at the Ambrose Baptist Church with the Rev. Raymond A.P. Mialki officiating. Interment will be made in the East Mahoning Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ambrose Baptist Church, 22 Georgeville Rd., Marion Center, PA 15759; or the VNA Hospice, 850 Hospital Rd., Suite 3000, Indiana, PA 15701.
