Joy Elaine Hangey's Obituary

Joy Elaine Hangey, age 69, of Indiana, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Indian Haven. She was born in 1941 to Budd S. and Martha V. (Haines) Lindsay in Sellersville, Bucks County. Joy was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Indiana; she was a Licensed Practical Nurse working for Dr. Thomas McCoy. Joy was a member of the Tri-county Country Music Association and enjoyed going to the Indiana Senior Center. She loved traveling, sight seeing and visiting eastern Pennsylvania. She will be remembered for her strength, perseverance and sense of humor She is survived by a daughter Pam Genchur, Indiana; a grandson, Jamie Genchur and a granddaughter Tara Genchur both of Indiana; and a Great Granddaughter Kayley Palmer, who was the joy of her life. Sisters-in-law Jean Fleming, and husband Harold, Carol Kelly, June Cicola and husband John, and Brother-in-law Thomas M. Thomas and wife Sally; Richard Brozenske; numerous nieces and nephews, and her two cats Denny and Lenny. She was preceded in death by parents, her first husband James A. Thomas in 1969, her second husband Dennis Hangey in 2005, a son Gary L. Thomas in 1998, a brother David Lindsay and a sister Arlene (Faye) Brozenske. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana with a funeral service at 11:00AM Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Brian Miller officiating. Interment will be private.
