Obituary

Obituary for John J. Turk Sr. John J. Turk Sr., 84, of McIntyre, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Latrobe Health and Rehabilitation. He was born in 1927 to Louis and Mary (Mudrosky) Turk in West Virginia. John was a member of the Church of the Good Shepard, Kent. He retired from Westinghouse as a supervisor after 30 plus years of work. He enjoyed arts and crafts, shopping, gardening, spending time in the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Army. He is survived by a son John J.Turk and wife Vicki, McIntyre; three grandchildren, Madison, Emily and Cody Barber, a son-in-law Randy Barber, Coal Run; a sister Mary Machak, Cheswick; several nieces, nephews and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dorothy Turk and daughter Melanie Barber, brothers, Charles, Mike, Bobbie, Joe, a sister, Francis Taylor and a deceased infant sister. Visitation will be on Monday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 AM, Monday with a Prayer service being held at 11:00 AM at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home. Interment will be in the St. Bernard Cemetery.
