Obituary

John Luther Davis, 76, of Plumville, left this earth on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017, after a courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

The son of William and Dorothy Luther Davis, he was born in 1941 in Punxsutawney.

John was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps. He worked at McCreary Tire & Rubber Company in Indiana for more than 20 years and Custom Window Extrusions in Delmont prior to his retirement.

John was a lifetime member of the Plumville Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Indiana Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.

Surviving are his wife, Coletta Lee (Griffith) Davis, Plumville; three children, Kevin (Bonnie) Davis of Indiana, Kimberly (John) Peles of Penn Township, and Kurtis (Sharon) Davis of Jefferson Hills; five grandchildren, Tyler Davis of Pittsburgh, Katie Davis of Indiana, Alyssa (Zach) Fossett of Monaca, and Joshua and Mikayla Peles of Penn Township; his brother, William (Alice) Davis of Indiana; numerous nephews and nieces; and countless friends who have been like family.

He was preceded in death by his half-brother, Donald James Waite.

Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. Friends will also be received on Saturday from 10 to 11 A.M. at the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, Indiana, where a funeral service will begin at 11 A.M. A luncheon will follow in the church social hall. Private interment will be made in the Smicksburg Cemetery.
