John E. Adamson's Obituary

John E. Adamson, age 86 of Mesa , AZ , formerly of Home, PA died Friday, September 23, 2016 in Mesa .

He was born in 1930 in Indiana Co., to Clarence G. and Gladys L. Smith Adamson.

John was a former member of the Plumville Presbyterian Church, and a current member of Gold Canyon United Methodist Church , Gold Canyon , AZ. He was also a graduate of the Indiana High School .

John and his wife Doris resided in Washington Twp. for 37 years, moving to Indiana for 15 years before relocating to Arizona in 2002.

He was employed as a sales representative for Dad's Dog Food, now known as "Ainsworth Pet Nutrition," for 20 years before his early retirement due to an automobile accident.

John not only loved everyone he met, he took pride in everything he did from landscaping his yard to gardening, bowling, golfing and camping. He was very artistic in nature. That was evident by all of the paintings, woodcarvings, tooled leather, beautiful wall hangings, braided hangers, rag rugs, and most recently coloring beautiful pictures. He never gave up on life. He served Plumville Presbyterian Church as an usher and Elder for many years. They moved to Indiana and became members of Crete Presbyterian Church before moving to Arizona .

Surviving is his wife of 66 years, Doris J. Tomb Adamson, Mesa , AZ ; three daughters, Shirley L. Feather, Mesa , AZ ; Kathy J. Mihoerck and husband Vincent, Northern Cambria ; Deborah A. Baker and husband Ronald, San Tan Valley, AZ; 10 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his aunt Helen McCausland, Home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sons-in-law, Thomas Feather and H. Daniel Jones, and by his brother Clarence G. "Junior" Adamson.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 7 to 9 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home and on Friday from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at the funeral home where a funeral service will begin at 1 P.M. with his grandson Pastor Michael Feather officiating. Interment will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery .
