Jerry Lynn Siewert , age 76 , of Indiana , passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his family.

He was born in 1940 in Fargo , ND to Rudolph John and Ordell Matzke Siewert.

Jerry proudly enlisted and served for 22 years as a Sergeant in the US Army receiving 2 Bronze Service Stars as a veteran of Vietnam War. Following his service his career as a truck driver gave him the privilege to see this beautiful country that he honorably defended.

He was a proud and loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle of his entire family.

Jerry is survived by seven children, James L., Brockton , MA ; Ordell L. Ange and husband W. Shane, Williamsburg, VA; John L., Suffolk, VA; Mary L. Minter, Virginia Beach, VA; Gerry L. McElravy and husband David R., Indiana, PA; Joseph L. and wife Michelle, Virginia Beach, VA; Su-Hyon and wife Lea, San Antonio, TX; his former wife and mother of his children, Keesoon Siewert, Hampton, VA; 29 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; two siblings, Marlys Trefethren, Fargo, ND; Dennis and wife Ava, Berlin, Germany; numerous nieces and nephews; and dearest friend Ida Sturgeon and beloved dog Chewbacca, Barr Slope, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Caroline Nelson, brother-in-law Melford Trefethren, and grandson Brian D. Magee.

Friends will be received on Saturday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home , Indiana , PA. Jerry will be laid to rest at the Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery , Suffolk , VA with his fellow comrades.
