Jean W. Beatty's Obituary

Jean W. Beatty, age 96, formerly of Marion Center, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Communities of Indian Haven. She was born in 1918 in Pittsburgh, to James W. and Von Ashbaugh Weaver. Jean was a member Presbyterian Church of Marion, and a former member of Plum Creek Valley Grange. Mrs. Beatty was a homemaker, she enjoyed cookie making and gardening, and could always be seen in her straw bonnet either in her garden or mowing the lawn. Jean is survived by two sons, Floyd A. Beatty, Auburn, ME; Glenn C. and wife Sherry, Indiana; four nieces and two nephews, Darla Smith, Home; Marie Waters, Pittsburgh; Janice Diab, AL; Bettina Trunzo, NY; Lyle Smith and wife Joyce, OH; Ronald Smith and wife Jane, Marion Center; and her good friend and roommate Sara Sero. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband J. Harold Beatty, by one son Paul R. Beatty, and by her sister Helen Smith. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 12 noon to 2 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will begin at 2 P.M. with the Rev. R. Bruce Shannon officiating. Interment will be made in the Marion Center Memorial Cemetery.
