Janice Marlene (McAfoos) Abel, 82, of Heilwood, passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, June 23, 2025.

She was born in Indiana on Oct. 24, 1942, to Harry and Zelda (Ferringer) McAfoos.

Janice graduated from Marion Center High School. She loved being outside planting flowers, gardening and cutting grass, but especially spending time with family and loved ones.

Surviving Janice are her children, daughter Kim (Ken) Krouse, of Heilwood, and son James (Connie) Abel, of Home; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as many other family members, including her fur baby Mindy.

In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her brothers, Ron and Lyle McAfoos; sister Ruth Ruffner; and an infant grandson, Zachary.

At Janice's request, all services will be private and have been entrusted to the care of the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana.
