Janet Lynn Bayne, 58, of Indiana, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023. She was born in New Kensington, on October 2, 1965, to William and Betty (Block) Bayne. She graduated from Valley High School (1984) and then attended IUP, graduating with a degree in Technical Theater (1988). Janet most recently worked for and retired from the Tax Assessment office in Indiana County in 2021.

Janet loved working outside in her garden and landscaping the bamboo around her home. She enjoyed history, was an avid reader and supported the Elephant Rescue cause in Thailand.

She is survived by her husband David A. Surtasky of Indiana, Mother Betty (Block) Bayne of New Kensington, sisters Sharon (David) Iacovino of Springdale, and Debbie (David) Murtha of New York.
