James E. Wynkoop, 82, of Marion Center, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023.
Born in Punxsutawney on March 21, 1941, to the late Earl and Mildred Wynkoop, he was the proud self-employed owner of Wynkoop Farm Equipment for more than 40 years. Jim was also a farmer and a truck driver. Known for always being willing and ready to lend a helping hand, he was well-known and well respected, a kind friend to all, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jim enjoyed going to equipment auctions, attending truck and tractor pulls, as well as stopping for a bite to eat with his best friend and traveling companion, Bea. He was a strong supporter and sponsor of Indiana County 4H and FFA programs and Youth Market Programs, as well as the local Indiana Fair events.
Jim is survived by his wife of 57 years, Leona "Bea" (Stiles) Wynkoop, who he married on February 4, 1967, an aunt, Doris (Raymond) Glasser of Marion Center, numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by two aunts, Peg Allison and Anne Yanity.
Friends will be received by the family on Monday, October 23, 2023, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at 11 AM with Pastor Jackie Greene officiating. Burial will take place in Marion Center Cemetery.
