Obituary

James E. "Jim" White, 91 of Indiana, passed away Friday, December 14, 2012 at his home. He was born in 1921 to Joseph Dickie White and Marie (Miller) White in Indiana . He was a member of Indiana VFW Post 1989, Indiana. ASFME, and also served as past president. Jim retired in 1985 from IUP from custodial services. Jim enjoyed spending time at his camp in Potter County. He is the last surviving founder of Edgewood Camp. Jim liked hunting, fishing and socializing on the front porch at camp. Jim was a United States Veteran serving in the Navy in WWII as a gunners mate on the USS Huntington. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Wilma R. White, Indiana, whom he wed August 28, 1946. A son Jim and wife Joyce, New Castle; four grandchildren Jennifer Suhoski, VA; Joseph J. Suhoski, MD; Jacob White, Ellwood City, and Jaimie White, Zelienople. A son-in-law Joseph Suhoski, VA; a brother William White, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Jeanette M. Suhoski, two brothers Dale and Darl "Whitie" White, two sisters Clarabel Custerd and Virginia Ray, and two infant sisters. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Monday at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 AM, with Pastor William Murphy officiating. Graveside services will be held in Union Cemetery (Armstrong Twp.) with military honors being presented by the Indiana VFW Post 1989. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Indiana County VNA/Hospice, 850 Hospital Road, Suite 3000, Indiana, PA 15701.
