James D. Cribbs, age 71 of Shelocta, died on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

He was born in 1946 in Indiana to Dale and Jewell Johns Cribbs.

Jim was a member of the Ernest Bible Church.

A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the US Army in Korea.

He was employed as parts manager for Tri-Star Motors in Blairsville for 17 years.

Jim loved hunting, camping, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by two sons - Kevin J. Cribbs and wife Danielle, Shelocta; Michael D. and wife Melissa, Shelocta; eight grandchildren - Andrew, Jared, Ashley, Brandon, Nathan, Joselle, Bella, Noelle; two sisters and three brothers - Kathy Wright and husband Jim, Homer City; Leonard Cribbs, Shelocta; William Cribbs and wife Maureen, Indiana; Mona Simpson and husband Donald, Marion Center; Chuck Cribbs, Indiana.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dorothy Gerber Cribbs in 2013, and his sister Eve Bush.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held Friday at 11 A.M. with the Rev. John Sykes officiating. Interment will be private.

Military honors will be provided by the VFW Post #1989 at the Funeral Home.
