Obituary

Jack H. Wahler, age 87, of Indiana, died Monday, March 19, 2012 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center. He was born in 1924 in Mt. Carmel, IL to Herbert J. and Ethel Gertrude Crow Wahler. Mr. Wahler was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux R.C. Church, Indiana, the American Legion Post #141, the BPOElks #931, and the NRA. A veteran of WW II, he served in the US Army as an Aviation Cadet and a Radio Operator. He attended the Southern IL University in Carbondale. Jack was employed in the gas and oil exploration industry for 40 years, having worked in Kentucky, West Virginia, Alberta Canada, and for the last 20 years of his career in Pennsylvania for the SW Jack Drilling Co. as drilling superintendant. Jack is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy L. (Deputy) Wahler, Indiana; three daughters and two sons, Jackie Frandsen and husband Peter, Highpoint, NC; Joan Wahler, Pittsburgh; Nonna Randal and husband Gary, Home; Richard "Dick", Inman, SC; Michael and wife Vanessa, Fairview Heights, IL; six grandchildren, Amy Tysinger and husband Mark, Jonathan Frandsen, Wendy Randal, Taylor, Cameron and Michaela Wahler. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his brother Richard Wahler. Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 A.M. at St. Bernard of Clairvaux R.C. Church, Indiana, with the Rev. Fr. William Kiel the celebrant. Interment will be made in the St. Bernard Cemetery. Graveside military honors will be provided by the VFW Post #1989. Memorial contributions may be made to the USO Dept.
