Obituary

Ilean (Mears) Wass, 83, of Indiana, died on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh. Ilean was born in Rayne Township, Indiana County. She graduated from Marion Center High School. After graduating high school, she went on to attend business school and was a secretary at a local business. She shared her life with her husband of 58 years, Paul, and was mother to their daughter, Vicky. Ilean was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Indiana. Her surviving family includes her husband, Paul, daughter Vicky, two grandchildren J and Jillian, and her sister and brother in law, Judy and David Stewart. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, William and Nora (Edwards) Mears and her sisters Louise Campbell and Mildred McGinnis. In her early life, she was active in the girl scouts and other community organizations. Her greatest enjoyment in her later years was working with their business, J and J Funnel cakes. Ilean appreciated every opportunity to be helpful to others and was especially thankful to many that helped her. Family and friends will be received at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, 500 Ben Franklin Road South, Indiana on Saturday, January 19th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, January 20th at 1:30 pm, immediately followed by interment at Oakland Cemetery.
