Herbert J. McCroskey, 81, of Shelocta, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born on August 1, 1942, to the late William and Adella Angeline (Thomas) McCroskey.

Herb served in the United States Army and worked for Fisher Scientific before his retirement. He was a long-time member of Creekside Presbyterian Church.

Herb leaves behind his children, Herbert (Patty) McCroskey of Pittsburgh, Christina (Leo) Myers of Pittsburgh, David McCroskey of Pittsburgh, Sherri (Jim) Watkins of Shelocta, Jennifer (Bruno) Sandolfini of Homer City, Steven (Heidi) Louttit of New Kensington, and Christopher (Linda) Louttit of Creekside; 19 grandchildren, 25 -great grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews as well as many friends.

In addition to his parents, Herb was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Evelyn Faye McCroskey, who passed away on November 22, 2021, a brother William McCroskey, and a son Michael Louttit.

Family and Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, in the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a service will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Bruce Shannon officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery, Indiana.
