Helen Marie Adams Millard's Obituary

Obituary for Helen Marie Adams Millard Helen Marie Adams Millard, 83, of Indiana, went to her heavenly home, Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Indiana Regional Medical Center. She was born in 1927 to Walter W. and Margaret (Johnston) Adams in Franklin. Helen was a member of Graystone Presbyterian Church, Indiana where she served as a Sunday school teacher, Deacon, a Stephen Minister and was active in the Presbyterian Women. She was a member of the small group ministry and held bible studies in her home for many years. Helen's passion for missions was visible in her continued support and participation in New Wilmington Mission Conference. She retired from the Indiana Area Senior High School where she worked as a library aide for 26 years. Helen enjoyed reading, arts and crafts, crocheting and hand work. She also enjoyed visiting shut-ins and volunteering at East Pike Elementary School. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by two daughters and a son, Pam M. and husband Art Lent, Columbia, SC; Karen L. and husband Thomas C. Spadafora, Indiana; LTC (Retired) Paul W. Millard and wife Cynthia A. Marshall, VA; Six grandchildren, James and Dawn Lynn Lent, Rev. Charles (Chip) Stapleton III and wife Traci L.; Adam, Rachelle and Sarah Millard, four great grandchildren, Janice and Robert Dougherty, Charlie and Jack Stapleton, a sister Margaret Weigel and husband Vern, Hadley and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Norman C. Millard in 1995, a sister Jean Higbee and a niece Gwynne Higbee. Visitation will be on Monday from 4-8 PM at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, a funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at Graystone Presbyterian Church, Indiana with Rev. Rick Hurley officiating. A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Franklin. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Graystone Presbyterian Church, 640 Church Street, Indiana, PA 15701 or New Wilmington Mission Conference, 229 Market Street, New Wilmington, PA 16142.
