Helen E. Kellar's Obituary

Helen E. Kellar, 75, of Creekside, passed away at her home, Wednesday, October 1, 2014. She was born in 1939 to Byron and Ruth (Frick) Brown in Creekside. Helen was a member of Plum Creek Presbyterian Church in which she was an Elder. She also belonged to the Traveling Evergreen Campers Club, The Red Hat Society and Knotty Pine Square Dancing Club. She was a homemaker most her life. Helen worked as a teacher's aide at Creekside-Washington Elementary School and also worked other various jobs. She was a giver to her community by volunteering in numerous functions and organizations. She is survived by, three sons, John R., Creekside; Donald E. and wife Brenda, Creekside; Ken and wife Connie, Shelocta; 11 Grandchilden, Janelle, Daryl, Tina, Terri, Brian, Steven, Kendra, Danielle, Kayla, Courtney and Kisha, 13 Great Grandchildren, two sisters, Lois Miller and husband Montie, Indiana; and Dorothy Schrecongost, Indiana; two brother-in-laws, Raymond Kellar and wife Margaret, NC; Daniel Kellar and wife Linda, Northern Cambria; a sister-in-law Eva Houser, Pittsburgh; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family. She was preceded in death by parents, her husband Richard L. Kellar in 2010, and a son Allen Kellar. Visitation will be on SATURDAY from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral service will be held on MONDAY at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Plum Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Willet. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
