Hazel Marie "Rusty" Lomman, age 84, of Commodore, died Friday, May 26, 2017 surrounded by her family. She entered heaven's gate and promptly swung her feet over the edge of her cloud.

She was born in 1932 in Commodore to Charles and Chrissie Taylor Stiffler. Rusty attended the Kinsport Assembly of God Church in Kinsport, PA.

Rusty was employed with ICCAP for many years as a community organizer and supervisor. In 1977 she was recognized with an Award of Merit for her dedication as a public servant, her civic mindedness, and her humane concern for the needs of the poor and underprivileged during the Johnstown flood. Rusty was given the Award of Merit by the Arch Diocese of Pittsburgh. In addition, she was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow by the Indiana Rotary Club.

She was also Executive Director of the Indiana Co. Blind Assoc. for 20 years before her retirement.

In her words, "she never met a stranger and cared about everyone". She especially loved babies and children.

Anyone who knew her knew she loved life and always did things her way. She loved to can, cook, and was an excellent bread maker. She desperately loved her family.

She is survived by four children; Linda Myers, Orlando, FL; Patricia Lomman, Indiana; Susan Limrick and husband Robert, Marietta, OH; Ken Lomman and wife Lori, Commodore; six grandchildren; Scott Yaros, Michael Limrick and wife Natalie, Kevin Limrick, Jason Myers, Brett Lomman, and Jennifer Lomman; four great grandchildren; Marquis Yaros, Ewan Limrick, Evan Yaros, and Gabby Yaros.

She was preceded in death by her parents, by one brother and one sister, Chester Stiffler and Loretta Frances Gray.

A private memorial service will be held at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. Graveside services will be made in the Oakland Cemetery.
