Harold G. Treese, Sr.'s Obituary

Harold G. Treese, Sr., age 81 of Indiana, died Friday, January 27, 2017 at Beacon Ridge Nursing Home after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.

He was born in 1935 in Arcadia to George Richard and Grace Ellen Hadden Treese.

Mr. Treese was self-employed as a contractor for 45 years until his retirement in 2003. His wife Florence and son Harold were also involved with the family business. Prior to his contracting business he was employed at Penn Furniture for several years.

Harold enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, motorcycling, and driving his Corvette. He also enjoyed family time at the beach.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Florence Orton Treese, Indiana; four children - Carol Cavanaugh and husband Michael, Locust Grove, VA; Cindy Solinski, Indiana; Judy Nagg, Indiana; Harold Treese, Jr., and wife Stacy, York; five grandchildren - Julie King, Robert Schreckengost, Jr., Heather Rotosky, Tara Dolan, Tracy Lanning; seven great grandchildren - Taylor, Logan, and Preston King, Nathan Rotosky, Michael and Alexis Dolan, Mason Lanning; two step-grandchildren - Justin Gerber and Allison Stiles; two sisters - Laura Mae Dishong and husband Donald, Indiana; Delores Bishop, Indiana; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, the following siblings - Valgene Treese, Mary Jane Phillips, son-in-law Alfred Solinski, Jr., and a great granddaughter Lilly Rotosky.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 1 to 3 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a memorial service will begin at 3 P.M. with Chaplain Rebecca Shuster officiating. Private inurnment will be made in the Oakland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Asera Care Hospice, 1255 Scalp Ave., Johnstown, PA 15904; or the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
