Gladys Mae Abel, age 82, of Shelocta died on October 26, 2019 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.

She was born in 1937 in Iselin, PA to Merle and Geraldine Sexton Gunter.

Gladys was employed as a real estate broker until her retirement in 1996.  She was also a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, reading, and spending time with her family; especially her three grandchildren.  She also loved gardening and teaching tricks to her dog Willow.  She was a wonderful caretaker for her loving husband, William.

Gladys was survived by her spouse, William; She is survived by her children: Jennifer Shesman and husband Michael of Thurmont, MD and Lisa Snyder and husband Robert of Shelocta; grandchildren:  Matthew Snyder, Ryan Shesman, and Benjamin Snyder; two sisters, Violet Barrett and Agnes Altimus; one brother, Merle Gunter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held for immediate family at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana.  Private interment will be made at Union Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, a tribute gift can be made in the memory of the Abels to the Parkinson's Foundation.
