Obituary

Geraldine Wood, age 87, of Indiana, formerly of Shelocta and Plum Boro, died Saturday October 27, 2012 at St. Andrew's Village. She was born in 1925 in Indiana to Heber and Sara K. Speedy Thomas. Mrs. Wood was a member of the Shelocta Community Presbyterian Church where she had served as Deacon. She was also past Matron of the OES #546 Lunar and Corinth Chapters, #229, Plum Boro and Pitcarin, the Three Rivers Chapter of the Wives and US Submarine Veterans of WWII, the Order of the Amaranth, the Queen Christina Ct. #123, and the AARP #2581. She was a resident of Plum Boro for 35 years before moving to Shelocta in 1985. She was a homemaker and was also self-employed as a seamstress for many years. Geraldine is survived by her husband Earl E. Wood, whom she married February 5, 1945, one daughter and one son, Cathy Livengood and husband David, Bloomsburg; Larry Earl Wood and wife Janet, Plum Boro; four grandchildren, Matthew Livengood and wife Christie, Kristin Light and husband Andrew, Kelley Wood, Thomas Wood and wife Arianna; four great grandchildren, Mitchell and Lauren Livengood, Caleb and Mason Light; and her brother-in-law Gilbert Jobe, Wassaic, NY. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her sister Evelyn Jobe and twin sister Maxine Dunegan Friends will be received on Monday from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 A.M. with the Rev. Matthew Jones officiating. Interment will be made in the Oakland Cemetery, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelocta Community Presbyterian Church, PO Box 177, Shelocta, PA 15774.
