Gerald E. "Popo" Adamson, 89, of Indiana, passed away at home surrounded by his family on March 1, 2025. He was born on December 4, 1935, in Creekside, to the late Edmund and Molly Lillie (Jewart) Adamson.

Popo worked for IUP as a custodian for 36 years before his retirement. He proudly served our country in the United States Army as an artilleryman. He was a member of the American Legion, Homer City Kiwana's, the Homer City Band Boosters, as well as the Indiana Grange. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, going to camp with his family, truck and tractor pulls, driving around Lake Erie but especially spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving Popo are his children, daughter Lillian Weaver of NC, son David Adamson of Lucerne Mines, daughter Karen Warr of Indiana, and daughter Michele Cousins of Indiana, grandchildren Brittany (Levi) Johnston, Alicia Adamson, Megan (Cody Hitching) Armstrong, great grandchildren Dominic and Connor Deyarmin and Rhyett Johnston, as well as God-Son Ronnie Orr.

Besides his parents, Popo is preceded in death by his wife Virginia (D'Aurelio) Adamson, a granddaughter Carrie Saltsman, and siblings Melvin and Edmund F. Adamson, Gertrude Beck, Leota Good, Ruth Orr and Eldean Koma.

Friends will be received by the family at the Bowser Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, from 12 – 2 PM and again from 4 PM until the time of service at 6 PM in the funeral home with Pastor Jack Lucas officiating. Private burial will be held in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.
