Obituary

George R. Krempels, 90, of Indiana passed away July 2, 2014. He was born in 1924 to George and Amelia Spall Krempels in Masury, OH. George was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Indiana. He retired from Bell of PA Telephone Co. in 1984, as a construction manager. He was a life member of Indiana VFW Post 1989. George was an avid golfer, fisherman and hunter. He and his wife Mary traveled extensively throughout North America, and other parts of the World. George was a United States Navy Veteran serving in WWII and Korean Wars. He helped liberate American POW's from Japanese concentration camps. He was a part of McArthur's liberation forces in the Philippines. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Agnes "Maggie" (Wiesen) Krempels, Indiana; a daughter, Sandra Jean Schaffhauser and husband David, Lancaster; three sons, Daniel G. and wife Vicki, Lancaster; Paul M. and wife Kathie, Cheyenne, WY; Ronald K. and wife Linda, Roanoke, VA; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and five sisters. A private graveside service will be performed at a later date. The Bowser-Minich Funeral Home have been entrusted with the arrangements.
