Obituary

George Gulas, age 91, of Indiana, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Beacon Ridge. He was born 1922 in Sagamore, to Karol and Anna Gulas. Mr. Gulas was a member of the Holy Protection of Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Homer City. A veteran of WW II, he served in the US Army, having experienced combat in Europe. He was employed as an accountant for Pittsburgh Corning Corp. for 19 years until his retirement in 1984. George enjoyed traveling. George is survived by his brother Joseph Gulas and wife Doris, Sagamore; and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, by an infant sister Anni Gulas, and by two brothers and one sister, Michael, John, and Mary Gulas. Friends will be received on Friday from 3 to 6 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a Parastas and Panachida will be held Friday at 3 P.M. A funeral Liturgy will be held Saturday at 10 A.M. at the Holy Protection of Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Homer City, with the Rev. Fr. Cuthbert Jack, OSB the celebrant. Interment will be made in the St. Bernard Cemetery, Indiana.
