Obituary

Florence Jennie Cooper, age 91, of Sagamore, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the home of her son in Richmond, VA. She was born in 1921 to John Reid and Bertha Dell Aul McCausland in Armstrong County. Mrs. Cooper was a member of the Sagamore Community Bible Church. She was a lifelong resident of Sagamore, and was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching TV. Florence is survived by two sons and two daughters, James C. and wife Barbara, Richmond, VA; Sally A. Heckman, Punxsutawney; John "Ron" and wife Donna, Elderton; Cathy Hilliard and husband Robert, Sagamore; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Grace Large, Inverness, FL; Dorothy Shotts, Dayton; Shirley Shemo and husband Conrad, Indiana; and by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her loving husband of 43 years, James C. Cooper in 1984, and by three brothers, Robert "Clark", Donald, and Clair McCausland, and by her infant sister Ruby Mae McCausland. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 1 P.M. with Pastor Tommy Nichols officiating. Interment will be made in the St. John Cemetery, Sagamore.
