Duane Boarts, age 74, of Home, died Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center.

He was born in 1944 in Parkwood to Floyd T. and Betty Weiss Boarts.

A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the US Army in Korea.

Duane was employed as a truck driver for Hayes Trucking Co, NuMine for more than 30 years. He was known as "Redbird" on the CB.

He is survived by two sons and one daughter - Michael D. Boarts and wife Deanna, Wade, NC; Matthew D. Boarts and wife Joanna, Marion Center; Megan D. Rougeaux and husband John, Henderson, NV; his mother of Ambrose, five grandchildren - Matthew, Kinsey, McKaela, Alexander, and James; one sister - Karen Gromley and husband Charles, Marion Center; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, by his wife Barbara Miller Boarts in 2014, and an infant son Jonathan.

Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at 10 a.m. at the Smicksburg Cemetery.
