Erna Kasminie (Djasmadi) Doherty, 65 of Indiana, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2023, in Pittsburgh. She was born on October 1, 1958, in Paramaribo, Suriname, to Rachmad and Wiesje Kasijem (Karijodihardjo) Djasmadi.

Erna moved to the Indiana area in 2012, prior to that she lived in DuBois. She worked at the Community Center, doing what she loved helping children in need. She enjoyed hiking, music such as Trip-Hop and Blues, helping anyone in need and especially spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, daughter Gya (Michael Kruize) Sokarijo of the Netherlands; son Robin (Kalie Thompson) Doherty of Wenatchee, and Josh Koran of Indiana, four grandchildren; Dylan, Noah, Kaelyn and Mikaela, two brothers Ewald and Harold Djasmadi, as well as one sister Ilse Djasmadi. Erna is preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2023, at 1:00 PM in the Divine Destiny Ministries, 207 Old Route 119, Hwy S, Indiana, PA 15701, with Scott and Tammie Pifer as celebrants.

Donations may be made to the funeral home to help offset funeral costs.
