Emma Jean Smith , age 87 , of Indiana , passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Shadyside Hospital , Pittsburgh .

She was born in 1929 in New Kensington, to Warren S. and Virginia May Hobaugh Bowser.

Mrs. Smith was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church , Clymer.

Jean was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with family. She was also an avid reader.

She is survived by two daughters and two sons, Lou Ann Hall and husband Donnie, Viper, KY; Kenneth Smith and wife Carol, Milton , FL ; Don Smith and wife Tempie, Clinton , UT ; Joyce Bryant and husband Ronald, Jr., Maysville, KY; eight grandchildren; three great grandsons; two brothers and one sister, Paul Bowser and wife Joyce, Danville; Warren Bowser and wife Violet, Bradenton, FL; Marjorie Mahar and husband Robert, Grand Rapids, MI; and several nieces and nephews.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Bernard "Bernie" Smith in 2013, by her twin brother Jack Bowser, brothers Stanley and Roland, and her sister Paula Shields.

Friends will be received on Friday from 6 to 9 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home , Indiana , and on Saturday from 10 to 12 noon where a funeral service will begin at 12 noon with the Rev. Dr. Daryl Jeffers officiating. Interment will be made in the Greenwood Memorial Cemetery , Lower Burrell .
