Obituary

Elaine E. Mires, age 86, of Clymer, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2013 at Scenery Hill Manor. She was born in 1927 to Robert F. and Lucy J. Hammer Loar in Midland, MD. Elaine was a member of the Marion Center First United Methodist Church, and the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Mires had resided in Los Angeles for 45 years, moving to PA in 1993. Along with her husband William, she was co-owner of "Space Kitchen", an airline catering service. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. Mrs. Mires is survived by a granddaughter Chelsea Rising and husband Brady, Blairsville; and the following siblings, M. Madeline Kalanivch, Indiana; Norma Mae Bourk, Baltimore, MD; J. Bruce Loar, and John R. Loar, borth of Glen Burnie, MD; Don M. Loar, Pasadina, MD; Gene W. Loar, Baltimore, MD; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death her parents, by her husband William F. Mires on April 18, 2013, and by a brother Robert F. Loar and sister Iona Foor. Visitation will be on Monday from 6 to 8 PM at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Carl White officiating. Friends will be received on Monday from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 A.M. with the Rev. Carl White officiating. Interment will be private.
