Obituary

Edward E. "Sonny" Prusasky, age 85, of Sagamore, died Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center. He was born in 1928 in Sagamore to Jacob and Stella Verimbek Prusasky. Sonny was a former member of the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Sagamore, and the VFW Post #6555, Sagamore. A veteran of the Korena War, he served in the US Army, 2nd Div, 38th Infantry Regiment, where he earned the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster for wounds suffered during combat. He was employed by General Electric in refrigeration in Erie and also for Kovalchick Salvage Company. Sonny is survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, by his wife Evelyn Bernakis Prusasky in 2009,by three brothers - Joseph (during WW II), Frank, Steve and a sister, Marydale Maddy. Friends will be received on Saturday, January 18, 2014 from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a Blessing Service will begin at 1 P. M. with the Rev. Fr. Douglas E. Dorula officiating. Private interment will be made in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sagamore. Military honors will be provided by the VFW Post #1989, Indiana.
