Obituary

Earl L. "Buck" Spangler, age 71, of Indiana, died Monday, February 17, 2014 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center. He was born in 1942 in Indiana, to Elizabeth B. Stiles Spangler. Buck was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, a life member of the VFW Post #1989, and the Redbarn Sportsman Club. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the US Army. He was employed as a mechanic for International Harvester for 10 years, and for Musser Forrest for 14 years before retirement. Additionally, he enjoyed his woodworking shop and made beautiful furniture and pieces. Earl is survived by three brothers, Robert Spangler and wife Annabelle, Brockport, William Spangler, Indiana; Ronald Spangler, Newark, DE. He is also survived by several close friends, Ron Coy and wife Gayle, Homer City; Jean James and husband Gene, Indiana Linda Ben-Zvi and husband Paul, Indiana; Cathy Nanni and husband Butch, Indiana; Daniel Winger, Pittsburgh; Kenneth Toothman and wife Carmen, Harrison, City; his aunt Ethel Stiles, Dover, DE; and numerous nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents, by his wife Sandra A. Yancy Spangler on March 1, 2013, and by his sister Patricia Geisel. Friends will be received on Friday from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will begin at 2 P.M. with the Rev. Dennis Marshall officiating. Interment will be private. Military honors will be provided at the funeral home by the VFW Post #1989. Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA, 350 Hospital Rd., Suite 3000, Indiana, PA 15701
