Earl K. Gardner's Obituary

Earl K. Gardner, 92 of Leesburg, FL and formerly of Indiana went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ , in the comfort of his home on Sunday, June 20, 2010. His sons celebrated his 92nd birthday with him on Friday, June 18, and were there to comfort him. The oldest son of Earlston K. and Arminta (Crawford) Gardner, he was born in Sykesville, PA on June 18, 1918. He graduated from Indiana High School in 1936 and was a registered Professional Engineer , and worked in the mining industry for 51 years before retiring from the Rochester and Pittsburgh Coal Company in 1983. He was an active member of Trinity Assembly of God Church, Fruitland, Park FL where he served on the Board. He was the current President of the Lake-Sumter Counties Chapter of the Full Gospel Business Fellowship International and past President of the Indiana, PA Chapter. He is survived by a sister, Doris Stumpf, Creekside, three sons David and wife Susan, Delmont; Gary and wife Nancy, Somers, CT; Charles and wife Janna, Charlotte MI; 13 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 64 years, Martha Vinton Gardner in 2002, a son Rev. Fredrick Gardner in 2006; two brothers David and Benjamin and two sisters Virginia and Betty Ruth. Visitation will be on Saturday, June 26, 2010 from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM at the the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Trinity Assembly of God, 200 Urick Street, Fruitland Park, FL 34731.
