Obituary

E. Wayne Ray, 94, of Angleton, Texas, formerly of Penn Run, passed away December 25, 2013 at Country Village Care. He was born in 1919 to Fred C. and Theda Sue (Ellenberger) Ray in Cherryhill Twp. Wayne was a member of Harmony United Presbyterian Church, Penn Run. He retired from Agway in Indiana in 1980 where he was the manager. He was a life member of Indiana VFW Post 1989, and a former member of the Indiana Kiwanis. Wayne was a WWII veteran serving in the US Army. He volunteered with the church and Habitat for Humanity. He is survived by his second wife Betty Ray, Angleton, TX; two sons, James W. and wife Patsy, Penn Run; Edward A. and wife Lois, Pittsburgh; a daughter, Kathleen A. Johnson, Lincoln, NE; 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, a brother, Clarence F. Ray and wife Marlynn, Penn Run; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Mary Alice (McCreary) Ray, two sisters Helen Bradfield and Dorothy Strong, two infant siblings, Max and Mildred Ray, a son-in-law Ray Johnson. Visitation will be on Monday from 4-7 PM at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. Additional visitation will be from 10 until 11 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM with Rev. Margaret Marley officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090-6011 or the American Lung Association, 3001 Old Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
