Dorothy J. Trinkley's Obituary

Dorothy J. (Dobransky) Trinkley, 81, of Indiana, formerly of Alverda, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Indiana Regional Medical Center. She was born in 1933 to George D. and Lillian (Simpson) Dobransky in Spangler. Dorothy was a member of the Indiana Alliance Church; Pine Township Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary; Penn Run Ladies Aglow Fellowship; Treasurer of the Alverda Water Association for over 35 years; Penns Manor Band Boosters. Upon graduating high school, Dorothy went to work for Wetzel's Insurance in Barnesboro. After raising her family, she then worked for CW Books Insurance and AAA Insurance where she was a notary and insurance agent upon her retirement. She enjoyed creating Austrian Easter Eggs, which she learned from her father and grandfather. She was featured in Country Women's magazine for her talent in creating her own designs for the eggs. She demonstrated her artistic skills to countless church, Boy Scout and Girl Scout groups. Dorothy also enjoyed reading, traveling, collecting antique oil lamps, Hall China Jewel Tea Autumn Leaf Dishes, and most of all spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 58 years Benjamin W. Trinkley, Indiana; four daughters and two sons - Janice "Jet" Woods and husband John, Northern Cambria; Shari Trinkley, Indiana; Valerie Heller and husband John; Alverda; Marci Carl and husband Kevin, Northern Cambria; Dr. Todd Trinkley and wife Connie, Clymer; Eric Trinkley, Reading; six grandchildren - Elin Woods, Amy Woods McCombie and husband Jeremy, Cori Woods, Tanner Carl, Collin Trinkley, and Nicholas Trinkley, two great grandchildren - Zoe and Jack McCombie; two step-grandchildren - Zachary and Jeran Adamson; and a sister Debra Dobransky, King of Prussia. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother George Dobransky and a sister Betty Nass Logston. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-5 PM at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana and also on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
