Dorothy Monko Riveiro's Obituary

Dorothy Monko Riveiro, 93 of Southport, NC passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center. Born in Sagamore, PA on December 15, 1921 to Nick and Anna Kostella. Dorothy had a passion for cooking, gardening, dancing, and playing musical instruments. She was especially fond of sharing her life stories with her grandchildren. Dorothy was very proficient at remembering the important dates of her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter Sylvia Egert (Gerry) of Holden Beach, NC and her son John (Denise Ann) of Athens, GA. Seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive her. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband John Paul Monko of 38 years (1978), her second husband Cilio Riveiro of 15 years (2004), a daughter Kathy Gundy (1998) and a granddaughter Wendy Egert Partsch (1989). A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 31, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Yatesboro, PA. Burial will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery, PA. Memorial gifts may be sent to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center, 955 Mercy Lane SE, Bolivia, NC 28422.
