Obituary

D. Lynn LaVan, age 55, of Indiana, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born in 1956 in Homer City, to Geno A. and Lucille Wells Andrie. Lynn was a member of the Indiana Wesleyan Methodist Church where she had served as Sunday School Teacher and Junior Church worker. She was employed at IUP in the printing center until her retirement in 2010. Lynn was a loving generous wife, mother, and a proud grandmother. She placed the concerns of others ahead of herself, and she lived her life for God and her family. She was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Lynn is survived by her husband Steve LaVan, Indiana; one daughter and one son, Lori LaVan and her boyfriend Nathan Spurgin, Salem, OH; Luke LaVan and wife Joanna, King William, VA; by one granddaughter, Kelsey Grace LaVan; and by one sister, Lois Beck and husband Kenneth, Lucernemines. She is also survived by cousins, numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, by one sister and two brothers, Eilene Andrie, Geno "Buck" Andrie, Jr., and Dennis "Mark" Andrie. Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 A.M. at the Indiana Wesleyan Methodist Church with Rev. Joseph Smith officiating. Interment will be made in the Washington Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana Wesleyan Methodist Church, 12th and Church St., Indiana, PA 15701.
