Dorothy P. George's Obituary

Dorothy P. George, age 85, of Shelocta, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born in 1930 in Ernest to William H. and Geraldine Griffith Gerber. Mrs. George was a long-time member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Clymer. Dot loved being a farmer's wife and caring for her large family, especially her loving relationship with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, William H. George, Shelocta; three sons and two daughters, Kathy McClelland and husband John, Indiana; Mark George and wife Patti, Indiana; Dan George and wife Carol, Shelocta; Larry George and wife Amy, Shelocta; Amy McCullough and husband Kerry, Rossiter; 16 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; two brothers and one sister, Thomas Gerber and wife Shirley, Creekside; Robert Gerber and wife Mary, Sigel; Donna Giannetto, Apollo. Dot was preceded in death by her parents, a brother William Gerber and wife Anna, and brother-in-law Tony Giannetto. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11 A.M. at the Calvary Baptist Church, Clymer, with the Rev. Dr. Daryl Jeffers and the Rev. Wilber Barber officiating. Interment will be made in the Union Cemetery, Shelocta. Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church and Academy, 11394 Rte. 286 Hwy E., Clymer, PA 15728.
