Obituary for Donald G. Stitts Donald G. Stitts, 88 of Shelocta, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2011 at St. Andrews Village in Indiana He was born in 1923 to Joseph L and Mary Margaret (Groff) Stitts in Hastings. Donald was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Kent. He retired in 1980 as a screw machine operator for General Motors/Detroit Transmissions. He resided in Detroit MI from 1945 until 1980 when he moved back to Indiana County. Donald was a member of the United Auto Workers Local #735 and CandY Sportsman Club. He was a Veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. He is survived by three brothers, Paul R. Stitts, Cleveland, OH; William R. Stitts and wife Nancy, Cleveland, OH; George E. Stitts, Macedonia, OH, a brother-in-law, Horace Coover, Hastings, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Caroline N. (Maschak) Stitts, two sisters Anna Marie Stitts and Dorothy Coover. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 2-7 PM at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at Church of the Good Shepherd, Kent at 1:30 PM with Fr. Charles Esposito celebrant. Burial will take place in St. Bernard Cemetery, Indiana. www.bowserminch.com
