Donald C. Mcclelland's Obituary

Donald C. McClelland, age 71, of Home, died Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center. He was born in 1939 in Armstrong Co., to Earl McClelland and Charlotte Galentine McClelland Stiteler. Don served in the US Navy on the USS Independence as a peacetime veteran. He was employed by Stockdale Transport of Dayton as a truck driver until his retirement in 2004. He enjoyed working with and riding horses and spending time outdoors. Donald is survived by his wife Nancy Klahre McClelland, Home; one son and one daughter Greg McClelland and wife Julia, Calabash, NC; Joni Hopkins and husband Wayne, St. Petersburg, FL; one step-son and one step-daughter, Tracy L. DeCooman, Freeport; Desiree DeCooman Barr and husband Robert, Gipsy; three grandchildren, Greg, Lyndsey, and Jesse McClelland, Wallington, NJ; one sister and one brother, Margaret Stiteler, Smicksburg; Thomas Stiteler and wife Linda, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, by two brothers and two sisters, Wilbur "Will" McClelland, Ed Stiteler, Delores Ruddock, and Mary Beth Fetterman. Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held Friday at 11 A.M. with the Rev. Arlene Scheitzer offciating. Interment will be made in the Smicksburg Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be provided by the Armstrong Co. Veterans Honor Guard.
