Obituary

Obituary for Donald L. Garnham Donald L. Garnham, age 93, of Indiana, formerly of Pittsburgh and Detroit, MI, died Monday, August 8, 2011 at Bethany Place. He was born in 1917 in Straffordville, Ontario, to Lewis Charles and Edna Jane Stratton Garnham. Mr. Garnham was a member of the Stark Road Gospel Hall in Livonia, MI. A veteran of WW II, he served in the Canadian Navy. He was employed as a purchasing agent for US Steel for 25 years, having resided in both Pittsburgh and Detroit, MI.. Don enjoyed beekeeping, reading his Bible and praying. Donald is survived by three sons and two daughters, Robert L. and wife Sharon, Novi, MI; Mary A. Seale and husband William Seale, Jr., Indiana; Lois J. Henkel and husband Arthur, Dearborn, MI; James E. and wife Brenda, Pittsburgh; John C. and wife Cecelia, Brentwood, CA; 14 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one sister and one brother, Ruth A. Thackston and husband S. Curtis, Lynchburg, VA; Hugh R. and wife Ruth, London, ON. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Elizabeth Alice Cumming Garnham in 2007; by his daughter-in-law Susan Park Garnham, and by two sisters, Margaret Brown and husband Burton, and Doris Humphrey and husband Robert. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 6 to 9 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held at 8 P.M. with Mr. William Seale, Jr. officiating. Friends will also be received at the Harris Funeral Home in Livonia, MI. Interment will be made in the Parkview Memorial Cemetery, Livonia, MI.
