Diane Joan Regina (Calabrese) Thayer, 85, of Greensburg, formerly of Homer City and Indiana, PA, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

Born April 2, 1939, in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late John and Amelia (Patti) Calabrese. Preceded in death by her husband Robert C. Thayer and son John F. Thayer. (Robert passed away November 1995, John passed away February 2014).

Diane was a graduate of Homer City High School (Laura Lamar), class of 1957. She went on to graduate from Grace Martin Business School and Peterson's Beauty School.

She began her career as a hairstylist at Hair Styles By Carl before opening her own salon, which she operated until her retirement in 2005.

Diane was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Roman Catholic Church. She devoted her life to her church, and to her family. Her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life.

She leaves behind two sons, Bob of Charlotte, NC, and David of New Stanton, PA; four grandchildren, Caitlin, Christina, Jay, and Jacy; three great-grandchildren, Michael, Capri and Leo; sister, Pat (Steve); brother, Dennis; nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by husband, Robert C. Thayer; son, John F. Thayer; and daughters-in-law, Gail Thayer and Linda Thayer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Roman Catholic Church at 10 AM, Friday, October 25, 2024. Inurnment will immediately follow in St. Bernard Cemetery, Indiana, PA.
