DeWayne Renwick, 77, of Bradenton Florida, formerly of Home, PA, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024, at his home in Bradenton, Florida.
He was born on October 30, 1946, in Indiana, to the late William C. and Geraldine Salina (Greenawalt) Renwick.
DeWayne graduated from Elders Ridge High School and then served our country in the United States Army from 1964 to 1966. He drove truck and worked in the construction trade, most recently as a window and door installer for Burke & Sons, retiring in 2003. DeWayne was very active in his church, the Church of the Resurrection, Ernest. There he served on pastoral council, sang with the Choir, was a lector, and was a Eucharistic Minister. He was also a member of the Indiana Flyers Club and Daedalus Hang Gliding Club. He enjoyed hang-gliding, metal detecting, hunting, and woodworking.
DeWayne is survived by his wife of 56 years, Catherine A. (Moreau) Renwick, whom he married on June 17, 1967, his children, Renee Batistig of Clymer, PA; DeWayne L. (Larissa) Renwick of Belle Vernon, PA; Lavinia "Vinny" Renwick, of Vandergrift, PA; Lori (Ismar) Renwick-Zaimovic of Sarajevo, Bosnia, and Herzegovina; seven granddaughters, two grandsons, six great-grandchildren, a sister Carole J. Rice, of Apollo, PA; brothers Gary Renwick of Apollo, PA; Tom (Sherry) Renwick, of Monroe, MI; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides his parents, DeWayne is preceded in death by his sisters Cindy Lou Stegner, Janice (John) Matonak, and brother William C. Renwick, Jr.
Friends and family are invited to a celebration of DeWayne's life on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the Silver Canoe Campground, 140 Silver Canoe Campground Ln., Rural Valley, PA 16249, starting at 4:00 PM. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 15, 2024, at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Parish, Indiana at 11 AM with Father Paul Dressler, O.F.M., Cap., as celebrant; inurnment will follow in St. Bernard Mausoleum.
