David P. Naylon's Obituary

David P. Naylon, age 56, of Indiana, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the Reading Hospital, Reading, PA. He was born in 1954 in Pittsburgh, to J. David and Sally Ray Naylon. David P. was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux R.C. Church, the UMWA Local #1412, the BPOElks Lodge #931, the Allied Club, and the Redbarn Sportsman Club. He was employed by the R and P Coal Co. as a coal miner at the Lucerne #8, and the Marshall Run Mine for 25 years before his retirement in 2000. David P. enjoyed many sports, especially football and college basketball, particularly the rivalry between Penn State and Pitt. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends in person and on the phone. He was well known for his sense of humor, and his kindheartedness. David P. is survived by his wife M. Carol Peterson Naylon, Indiana; by one son Justin D. and finacee Jacquie Baker, Pittsburgh; by one sister and one brother, Diana McAdoo and husband Gary, Indiana; Mark Naylon and wife Mary Ann, Shillington; seven nieces and five nephews, Richelle King, Courtney Jones, Natalie Mears, Audrey and Jessica Peterson, Taryn Tardio, Allison Giandomenico, Zachery Naylon, Nathan Nyland, Brandon Tardio, John Michael Gundy, Jeffrey Gundy; and numerous great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, by his infant son Adam Paul in 1987, by his mother-in-law Margie Peterson, by his paternal grandparents Paul and Pauline Naylon, and by his maternal grandparents, R. Hastie and Lucilla Ray. Friends will be received on Monday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 A.M. at St. Bernard of Clairvaux R.C. Church, Indiana, with the Rev. Fr. William Kiel the celebrant. Interment will be made in the St. Bernard Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA, 850 Hospital Rd., Suite 3000, Indiana, PA 15701. A special thank you for all the support and love our family and dear friends have given to us over the many years. David P. will be sadly missed by all.
