Darlene Swineford Snyder, age 69, of Indiana, died Wednesday, October 10,
She was born in 1948 in Dubois to Frank and Helen Yates Swineford and moved to Indiana where she graduated from Indiana High School in 1966.
Darlene was a faithful and active member of the Faith Orthodox Presbyterian Church, Indiana, where she was active in Ladies Bible Study, Prayer Meeting, and Sunday School.
She was employed by National Bank of the Commonwealth for eight years, and for Drs. Markowitz and Zbignewich for 20 years as an Optical Technician until retirement.
She was married to Rev. Douglas Snyder, the love of her life, for the past 49 years. She loved traveling with Doug. She enjoyed movies, trivia, and musicals. Darlene was a sports fan and liked her Pittsburgh Pirates. Singing at church brought her so much joy. She shined as she led church
Above all, she loved their three granddaughters. She was committed to attending their activities and cheered loudly for Karlie and Gracie at their sporting events. Skyping with Darlene in California could sometimes be a nightly ritual.
She is survived by her husband of Indiana, two sons and one daughter, Douglas and wife Michelle, Indiana; Michael and wife Chelsea, Oakland, CA; Elizabeth, and fiancé Jeremy McKeever, Knoxville, TN; three granddaughters, Karlie Rae, Grace, and Darlene; her step-mother, Lorraine Swineford, Lighthouse Point, FL; two brothers, the Rev. Dr. Dennis Swineford and wife Deborah, Edinboro; Vince Stanavich and wife Rae Ann, Port St. Lucy, FL; two sisters, Lisa Allen and husband Ken, Cranberry, Twp; Lori Kirkpatrick and husband Mark, Coraopolis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Janet Swineford.
Friends will be received on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 P.M. and on Sunday from 1 to 2 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will begin Sunday at 2 P.M. with the Rev. Dr. Bob McKelvey officiating. Interment will be made in the Oakland Cemetery.
