Dale J. Cornman, age 94 of Indiana, formerly of Plumville died Friday, December 21, 2018 at Scenery Hill Manor Nursing Home.

He was born in 1924 in Indiana County to Clay and Laura Magel Cornman.

Dale was employed as a mechanic and shop foreman for Wood Pontiac & Chevrolet for 38 years before his retirement. He was also the owner/operator of the first car wash in Plumville. After retirement, he drove school van for Barker Bus for approximately 10 years.

He will be loved and missed by his family.

Dale is survived by two daughters - Rita Wolfe and husband Edward, Marion Center; Dee Vavrek, Worthington; six grandchildren - John Wolfe, Kelly Montgomery, Holly Myers, Becky Schurr, Sheri Wetzel, Joseph Painter; eight great grandchildren - Kalie Schmitt, Kyle Montgomery, Abbigail Moody, Emily Moody, Dawson Bracken and Dakota Bracken, Talen Painter and Kroy Myers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruth Wingard Cornman in 1990 and a sister Gertrude Haggerty.

A private memorial service will be held at Smicksburg Cemetery for immediate family members.
