Obituary

Clair Alton "Cap" Pierce, age 74, of Indiana, passed away on Tuesday May 10, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born in 1936 in Center Twp., to Wade Clair and Vernie Mae Hall Pierce. Mr. Pierce was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, where he served as Captain of the ushers for the Saturday evening service. He was also an active member of the GOP party in Indiana Co., and was currently serving as Indiana Co. Auditor for the past four years. Clair was employed as inventory control manager for Robertshaw Controls and retired after 38 years of service. Clair is survived by his wife of 53 years Susan C. Lentz Pierce, Indiana, who he married May 10, 1958; two sons, Edward Clair, Indiana; David Wade and special friend Melissa Vertosick, Greensburg; one brother Dean Pierce, Indiana. He is also survived by five sisters-in-law and by two brothers-in-law and their spouses; and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by four sisters and one brother, Ruby Pierce, James Pierce, Dora Pierce, Ruth Stegner, and Betty Yarosik. Per Clair's request there will be no viewing. Friends and family will be received on Saturday from 10:30 until the time of memorial service at 11 A.M. at the Trinity United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Greg Golden officiating.
